    Ashok Dilawri

    Ashok Dilawri came to the car sales business, via the hotel industry and automobile leasing business. In 1972, he came to the U.S. from India, with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Punjab. He settled in Las Vegas and earned a B.S. in Business and Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He subsequently worked as a Hotel Manager in the U.S. and Canada, for chains such as Hilton, Holiday Inns, and Fairmont Hotels.

    Then in 1978, Ashok's uncle invited him to join his Avis Car Rental Business as a General Manager in Ottawa, Canada. There Ashok acquired experience and interest in the automotive industry. In 1984, Ashok moved to Winnipeg and opened his own American Motors Franchise. He was so successful he was able to buy the store back from American Motors within one year, and in subsequent years acquired and grew his other dealerships.

    "Fascination for the business and the competitive spirit got me going and still gets me going every day," says Ashok. So does family and a strong sense of team spirit. The Dilawri business is family owned and operated. Ashok's wife, Annu Dilawri, is in charge of Customer Relations for Dilawri Automotive Group. Ashok's oldest son, 23-year-old Kabeir Dilawri, an honors graduate from Queens University in Canada, joined the family business last year and is currently a Manager at the new Crown Honda store.

    The Dilawri business philosophy is team oriented. "We have a slogan: 'Our team beats with one heart.' It's a philosophy we talk about all the time. And, we treat every customer like an honored guest in our own home. Those two things are the backbone of the way we do business.

    Glen Daman

    Glen Daman has been in the automotive industry for over 20 years. Over half of those with the Dilawri Automotive group. Born and raised in a small town St. Adolphe Manitoba. Glen is an avid fundraiser for numerous charities in our community.  Glen will tell you his greatest success story is at home - he married his high school sweetheart and has two sons, ages 19 and 17.
